CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - The Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority Police Department announced that at 6AM on Tuesday, members of its SWAT Team executed a search warrant at the East 93rd Street residence of Edward Pratt. The search was a result of an investigation into a shooting incident that occurred on March 7th, where a 3-year-old child was injured.

19-year-old Pratt was arrested and charged with two counts of felonious assault, shooting into an occupied structure, and carrying concealed weapons. CMHA Police also recovered the handgun Pratt used in the shooting.

He is not a resident or leaseholder of a CMHA property.

"I am proud of how quickly our officers and detectives were able to solve this case. We will remain aggressive in identifying, apprehending and prosecuting knuckleheads who commit crimes on our property," said CMHA Police Chief Andrés González.

Witnesses reported a male brandishing a handgun over the weekend. The triggerman began shooting into a window of a residence at 2442 Morris Black. The man continued shooting as he fled on foot, at least three or four shots were fired into the residence.

There were two individuals in the home at the time of the gunfire, a 21-year-old female and her 3-year-old daughter. The child, who was in an upstairs bedroom during the incident, was grazed in the stomach by one of the bullets.

The child was transported by EMS to Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital where she was treated and released with a first degree burn on her stomach.
