CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - Two teens and an adult arrested after a hazing incident at Whitney Young Academy on Harvard Avenue.

Police say 14-year-old Sahee Bell and 15-year-old Donovan Garner are 8th graders at the school. They were standing in the school parking lot after basketball practice last Thursday when a group of older students started taunting them.

The two boys were shoved into a car trunk.

Garner managed to open the trunk while inside the car and both boys fell onto the parking lot.

The car was then put into reserve and backed over Bell. He was treated and released from University Hospital.

Parents are alarmed and appalled.

"I was totally shocked to hear that happening up here at Whitney," said Renee West.

"That's terrible, that's absolutely atrocious," said Sabrina McCoy. "Kids are really cruel."

Police arrested a 17-year-old girl, a 17-year-old boy and 27-year-old David Gholston.

All are charged with felonious assault. The female was the driver.

"I think it is just dumb, because kids shouldn't be playing around like that and it can cause serious accidents like it did now," said a student who wished to remain anonymous.

School officials sent a letter home to parents last Friday.

U.S. News and World Report ranked the academy among the top schools in the entire nation.

And just this year, Whitney Young became the first and only Cleveland school ever to receive the state's highest academic rating.
