Suspect arrested in death of 16-year old Canton girl

CANTON, OH (WOIO) -

Canton cops have charged a 21-year old man in connection with the shooting death of 16-year-old Diamond Singleton.

Cortney L. Walton turned himself in to authorities on Thursday. 

Walton was killed April 27th when someone shot into a home she was visiting on Shorb Ave. NW.

Police don't believe she was the intended victim.

Officials say Walton was in Alabama when he went to police.

IN CANTON...STILL NO ARRESTS IN THE MURDER OF A 16-YEAR-OLD GIRL.

DIAMOND SINGLETON WAS SHOT WEDNESDAY EVENING AT A HOME ON SHORB AVENUE NW.

POLICE SAY SHE WAS VISITING A FRIEND..WHEN A SHOT WAS FIRED THROUGH THE FRONT DOOR..STRIKING DIAMOND IN THE CHEST.
