Danielle Serino joins 19 Action News as an anchor and investigative consumer reporter.  Coming to 19 Action News from FOX Chicago and having worked at stations across the country, Danielle is, without a doubt, a veteran journalist.

Her first TV job was as a field producer for "Real Stories of the Highway Patrol," where she rode with the vice squad to break prostitution and drug stories and responded to 9-1-1 calls in Newark, New Jersey.  Her first day on the job there was actually the same day as the first bombing of the World Trade Center.  What a way to be broken into the TV business!

From there, Danielle was a writer at News 12 in Long Island, a 24-hour cable news outlet.  She finessed her way into an on-air job and became the entertainment reporter, where she interviewed A-list celebrities like Alec Baldwin and Van Halen.

Next stop--Westchester, NY.  She became the crime reporter/fill-in anchor.  Then to Miami, where Danielle worked for a new TV network, WAMI.  It was there that she won an Emmy for her series commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the Mariel Boat Lift. After that, Danielle made her own exodus for the windy city to become the back-up anchor and consumer reporter at FOX Chicago.

Danielle graduated from Northwestern University in Illinois, and before entering the news business, she was an advertising executive in New York City.

Danielle isn't all work and no play though.  She's an avid salsa dancer and adventure seeker.  She actually backpacked alone through the Middle East and recently rappelled down waterfalls in the rainforests of St. Lucia!
