Middleburg Heights, OH - Police shot and killed a 55-year-old man during a stand-off early Sunday morning.

The standoff happened at 16747 Fowles Road.

Police say around 9PM Saturday they received multiple 9-1-1 calls about a man waving a gun outside.

Police arrived on scene and 55-year-old Richard Sarver went back inside of his home. There was nobody else inside the home at the time.

SWAT responsed and they could see Sarver walking from room to room with a gun in his hand the whole time.

Nearly six hours later, Police cut a hole in the screen of a breezeway window between his garage and house and then Sarver appeared in front of one of the Officers with what appeared to be a hunting rifle and pointed it at the Officer.

The Officer then tasered Sarver, then Sarver pulled out the probe and pointed the rifle at the officer again.

The Officer then shot Sarver in the chest, abdomen, arm, and flank.

Sarver was taken to Southwest General Hospital then lifeflighted to MetroHealth Medical Center where he later died.
