Local Doctor Commits Suicide Amid Criminal Trial

Posted: Updated:

Valley View, OH -  The Cuyahoga County Coroner's office has identified the body of Saturday morning's suicide jumper as Dr. Bruce Feldman.

Dr. Bruce Feldman was on trial for illegally selling prescription medication. Feldman was also facing several other criminal charges.

Police say at 7:43 a.m. they received a call about a suicide jumper. Three callers claim to have seen Feldman on the Valley View Bridge.

Police arrived but by then it was too late and Feldman had already jumped off the bridge from the eastbound lanes eastbound lanes of I-480 and landed at Landmark Disposal off of Exchange Street in Valley View.

The Feldman family has released the following statement:

"We are in a state of shock.  We are devastated.  Regardless of what has been said about Dr. Feldman recently, we knew him as a brilliant doctor and a kind and loving husband and father."

19 Action News will have more on this developing story as details become available.
