MUNICH, GERMANY (WOIO) - Publish reports posted Wednesday on BBC.com claim the accused Nazi death camp guard John Demjanjuk is fit fit to stand trial.

According to the website, Deputy Prison Director Jochen Menzel said Mr Demjanjuk was in "strikingly good condition" and that "he is not typical for his age, he is in better shape than usual for an 89-year-old."

John Demjanjuk was deported from the U.S. late Monday evening and arrived in Munich, Germany Tuesday.

The 89-year-old was then transported to Stadelheim Prison where he was placed in a special medical unit to determine if he was fit to stand trial.

Demjanjuk  faces charges of being an accessory to the deaths of 29,000 Jews.
