CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - According to the EPA, the UV Index in the Cleveland area is at number 8, which means it has reached a very high classification.

With UV levels that high and with the news that the one in five Americans will develop skin cancer in the course of a lifetime, it's more important than ever that the people in the Ohio area take precautions to protect themselves from the harmful UV rays.

For the third year in a row, The Skin Cancer Foundation's Road to Healthy Skin Tour presented by AVEENO® and Rite Aid will be stopping by the Ohio area in the Tour's 38-foot customized RV to offer free full-body skin cancer screenings to the public. Local dermatologists are donating their time to offer the free screenings.

Thursday, June 3rd from 11AM-12PM and again from 1PM-4PM at the Rite Aid on Ridge Road in Parma. Again, on Saturday, June 5th from 10AM-1PM at the Rite Aid on Pearl Road in Strongsville.

During last year's tour, The Skin Cancer Foundation found over 1,200 suspected skin cancers and precancers, including 77 suspected cases of melanoma.
