Vermilion Car Crash Kills 27-Year-Old Driver

Vermilion, OH - A serious car accident was called into 9-1-1 around 7:30 a.m. Sunday.

The accident happened on US 6 at Ferndale Avenue. Three Vermilion police officers, fire crews, and EMS all responded.

Upon arrival officers noticed a small fire blazing underneath the vehicle which was quickly extinguished by fire workers. The car had struck a tree.

There was only one passenger in the vehicle, 27-year-old Jeremiah McIntyre, who was found with serious injuries and was unconscious.

Evidence collected on scene indicated that the driver lost control and crashed. McIntyre was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

McIntyre was carefully removed from the vehicle with the assistance of fire, EMS, and police then transported to Community Health Partners in Lorain.

From Community Health Partners, McIntyre was flown by Life Flight to St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, where he was pronounced dead at 10:10 p.m.
