Ohio Flags To Fly at Half Mast in Honor of Metzenbaum

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - His colleague John Glenn says former Ohio U.S. Senator Howard Metzenbaum was willing to give up a lucrative business career to help the little guys.

Metzenbaum died yesterday at the age of 90.

In tribute, Governor Strickland has ordered that flags be flown at half-staff on all public buildings in Ohio from sunrise tomorrow to sunset Monday. Strickland calls Metzenbaum one of the best friends consumers and working people have ever had.

Current Ohio U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown says he's honored to hold Metzenbaum's old seat and honored to follow in his footsteps.

Brown says his fellow Democrat never gave up his passion for fighting for ordinary people and being a warrior for social and economic justice.
