GUILTY: AKRON, OH (WOIO) – The jury has convicted Ashford Thompson in the murder of Twinsburg police officer Joshua Miktarian. Thompson fatally shot Officer Miktarian multiple times in the head in July of 2008.

Jurors rendered a verdict after deliberating only a handful of hours. They got the case on Wednesday afternoon - a verdict was reached by 10:30AM Thursday morning.

Thompson showed no emotion as he was found guilty on all nine counts - including aggravated murder.

Thompson originally pleaded guilty to the murder, but then withdrew his plea.

Now that he has been convicted, he faces the death penalty. That phase of the trial will take place Thursday, June 10th.
