CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) - New information was released Friday on Emma Nahas - the 20-year-old woman who went missing while boating with friends.
Her body washed ashore in Euclid on Monday.
Investigators now say Emma and 31-year-old John Slyman were not wearing life jackets when they jumped into Lake Erie after 8PM on July 8th.
The water got rough and both started to struggle to get back to the 48-foot boat that was not anchored. Others on the boat tried to help and saved Slyman, but Emma went under the water and disappeared.
The coroner says there was no trauma or bruises on Emma's body, but they are waiting for the toxicology results to determine if the 20-year-old was drunk.
"We don't have any evidence right now of any foul play," said Jim Gorman of Ohio Water Craft Division. "No struggle in the water. No fight in the water of any type. No assault in the water."
All of the people on the boat are cooperating, but boat owner and operator Alex Cucu has yet to provide a full statement to investigators. Cucu has already been cited for boating under the influence.
