CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A blast from the past could be coming back to haunt Anthony Sowell, accused serial killer also known as the Cleveland Strangler.

Another woman has come forward, claiming she too lived through an attack by the suspected killer.

East Cleveland Police confirm to 19 Action News that a 46-year-old South Carolina woman filed a report with East Cleveland police, saying she was attacked while she lived in Cleveland back in 1988.

The woman says she didn't know her attacker at the time, but recognized Sowell when she saw his face on national television in November 2010.

The woman says at the time of the attack she didn't have the guts to come forward.
