Attorneys for Anthony Sowell request yet another trial delay

Posted: Updated:
CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Breaking new developments in the case of the so-called Cleveland Strangler.

19 Action News has learned attorneys for Anthony Sowell have requested yet another trial delay. And this one comes just days before the trial is to begin on June 6th.

Among the reasons, Sowell's lawyers say his crime scene expert needs more time to review the case. They also claim other experts need more time to prepare a defense if Sowell gets convicted and the jury must decide if he gets put to death.

Sowell is facing the death penalty for killing eleven women. The victims were found in and around his Imperial Avenue home in November of 2009.
