AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

William Mitchell was sentenced in Akron Federal Court to eight years and one month in prison for his role in the Cuyahoga County Corruption Investigation.

He must also pay $1.2 million in restitution.

Mitchell was found guilty back in April.

He and his law firm bilked the county out of millions of dollars.

It was revealed that Mitchell's partner, Louis Damiani, was the mastermind behind the scheme. He died in 2006.

Two other partners are already behind bars.
