CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

The 12 men and women who will decide Anthony Sowell's fate visited his Imperial Avenue home Monday.

The eight women and four men got a firsthand chance to see the place lawyers will be talking about so much during the trial.

Attorneys warned them they would see gruesome pictures and to be ready.

Jurors went inside the house in groups of four, and wore protective covering such as surgical masks, gloves and shoe booties. Court officials were stationed on all four floors of the home, and pointed out items of jurors to take note of.

The entire tour took about 35 minutes. Jurors also toured three locations outside of the home.

Opening arguments were presented Monday afternoon.

Sowell faces the death penalty if convicted of murdering eleven women. The bodies of the victims were found in and around Sowell's Imperial Avenue home.
