MONCLOVA TOWNSHIP, OH (WTOL) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol confirms 57-year-old Frank Billings Jr. of Whitehouse, OH was seriously injured after a crash with a semi truck.

The semi truck, driven by 50-year-old Dale Doxsee of Temperance, MI, crashed into a utility pole then an occupied apartment building after colliding with Billings.

The crash happened at 5:40 a.m. Thursday on Maumee Western Road (US-20A) and Eber Road in Monclova Township.

Sheriff's deputies say Billings was driving a Ford Focus southbound on Eber Road and failed to yield for a stop sign. He continued across US-20A and was struck by the semi truck driven by Doxsee.

Billings was taken by air ambulance to the University of Toledo Medical Center.

Doxsee and a resident of the apartment complex were treated at the scene.

No residents of the apartment were seriously injured. One person rushed in and dug through rubble of the building to rescue a trapped apartment resident.
