After introducing its readers to the 52 hottest Bachelors from around the country, Cosmopolitan magazine has named 28-year-old WOIO-TV entertainment reporter Chris Van Vliet, from Cleveland, Ohio, its 2011 Bachelor of the Year.

 

Editor-in-Chief Kate White announced the decision Tuesday night at an exclusive party held to celebrate this year's Bachelors at New York City hot spot Arena.

Every year, Cosmopolitan's November issue features eligible men from each state (and Washington, D.C.) who are single, sexy, and totally dateable.

Profiles of all the 2011 Bachelors also are available on cosmopolitan.com, where readers had a chance to choose their favorites. After receiving more than 20,000 votes for Bachelor of the Year, a team of Cosmopolitan editors selected the 2011 winner from the top vote-getters.

Van Vliet took home the title and a $10,000 cash prize.

"This year's group of Bachelors was top-notch," White said. "Chris is charismatic, handsome, and successful, and he exemplifies what it means to be a Cosmo Bachelor. He even plans on donating his prize money to the Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland."
