RAW: Video released of man allegedly beaten by Cleveland police

CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

19 Action News has obtained video of a man allegedly beaten by Cleveland Police after a New Year's Day chase.

The lawyer for Edward Henderson has filed suit against 25 unnamed officers, the Cleveland Police Patrolmen's Association and President Steve Loomis.

The suit alleges that officers have not been forthcoming with information about the confrontation with Henderson.  It also says that there is a "code of silence" that is pervasive in the ranks of the police.

Four officers were originally charged with felonies in the incident.  Those charges have been dropped while a Federal Grand Jury examines the case.

CPPA President Loomis calls the suit grandstanding.
