Judge questions Dimora jurors about the Dimora trial

Posted: Updated:
AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Jimmy Dimora's attorneys made an unusual request near the end of testimony Wednesday. They wanted to find out if anyone on the jury had seen anything on the trial - since testimony began.

The judge asked jurors and six raised their hands to indicate they had.

On Thursday, there was no mention at the start of court about sidebar discussions centered on several jurors saying they had heard about news coverage of the case.

The Plain Dealer reports that the judge was overheard using the word "puppet" in the discussion. This is a reference to a 19 Action News feature "The Puppets Court" a nightly feature that lampoons some of the more outrageous testimony in the case.  No jurors were dismissed, they were warned not to have any conversation about any element of the case.
