CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A North Olmsted man was sentenced Monday to two years and nine months in prison for attacking a priest, a clergy member and two police officers this past February.

William Horning, 49, headbutted the clergy members after being confronted for taking money to perform services and not completing the work at St. Georges Church.

Horning then hit two Cleveland Police Officers with his car, as he tried to leave the scene. The police officers stepped in front of Horning's vehicle, identified themselves and withdrew their weapons. Horning took his hands off the wheel as if to surrender but then drove directly at the officers striking each of them as they attempted to dive out of the way. The officers were treated and released from a local hospital.

Horning was paid approximately $27,000 by St. Georges Church for various jobs, including window replacements. He was also paid $2,000 by Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church.
