Lunch lady who allegedly assaulted co-worker due in court

FAIRVIEW PARK, OH (WOIO) - -

A school cafeteria worker charged with assaulting a co-worker has her day in court Monday afternoon. 

It happened at Gilles-Sweet Elementary School on West 220th Street last November.

According to witnesses, 54-year-old Laura D'Aiuto pushed another woman's hand into boiling water as punishment. The woman did not have to go to the hospital.

Fairview Park school officials say they did their own investigation and found the allegations had no merit despite police filing charges.

School officials also say D'Aiuto is the Food Services Director and is still working in the school.

Her hearing is at 11:30 a.m. in Rocky River Municipal Court.
