Competency evaluation ordered for Chardon school shooting suspect

GEAUGA COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

New details in the deadly school shooting at Chardon High.

Juvenile Court has ordered a competency evaluation for the accused student gunman TJ Lane.

Lane's April 3rd hearing has been postponed. He will be back in court for one of three hearings to determine his competency starting on April 9th.

The deadly shootings occurred just before the start of classes February 27th in the area of the High School's cafeteria.

17-year-old Russell King, Jr., 16-year-old Daniel Parmertor and 16-year-old Demetrius Hewlin were killed. 17-year-old Nick Walczak remains hospitalized, and 18-year-old Joy Rickers has been released from the hospital.

Lane has been charged with three counts of aggravated murder, two counts of attempted aggravated murder and one count of felonious assault for the student snipped in the ear.
