FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) -

FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) - On Wednesday, Chelsea's classmates made signs and wrote letters to the 15-year-old's family. Many people are still trying to make sense of how something like this happened.

"It's crazy how a 15-year-old little girl who just began high school and having everything going for her," said Brianna Turner, Chelsea's friend. "It's just so sad because she was like a baby sister to me."

"She wanted to go to prom, then this happens," said Megan Buemi, Chelsea's friend.  "It was somebody she truly trusted, one of probably her best friends. She was one of my best friends and it's really emotional that this happened." .

Police are not naming any suspects, however say the killer may be someone Chelsea knew.

At Fairfield Options Academy, grief counselors have been on hand since Monday to help students.

"We've just really been here listening to them, normalizing their feelings, validating how they feel and helping them feel expression," said Chirsty Hughes-Thurman with Lifespan.

Some students signed a petition to get a memorial made to honor Chelsea at the school. Also on Wednesday, Chelsea's mom came to the school to talk with her daughter's friends.

"I feel like she just needs to be reassured her child was loved and it's not just her that is missing her and that's affected by this," said Turner.

"I don't think I'll ever get over it, I'll get used to it as the time goes by but I don't think I'll ever truly move on," said Buemi.

Chelsea's classmates wore purple on Wednesday which was Chelsea's favorite color. Funeral arrangements have not yet been finalized.
