The arrest of five men accused of plotting to blow up a bridge over the Cuyahoga Valley ought to send a sobering message to those who think that the so-called occupy movement is comprised of well-meaning citizens struggling for social equality.

The five scruffy, self-described anarchists had intended to use plastic explosives to blow up the bridge on highway 82 in Sagamore Hills and didn't realize that they had bought the explosives from an undercover FBI agent. Now, to be fair…not all members of the Occupy Movement support violence or insurrection, but the movement was indeed started by an anarchist organization in Canada and there has been plenty of destruction and violence in occupy demonstrations around the nation.

This past Tuesday, May 1, which was an important holiday to the old Communist party and which also appeals to the occupy movement, saw its members incite mini riots in New York, Seattle and Oakland, California.  And now, of course, this attempted bombing in our backyard. It ought to tell us that what many of these protestors need to occupy is a jail cell.

Write and let me know what you think.  I'm Bill Applegate and here's the address.
