Jimmy Dimora evidence released

Posted: Updated:
CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

Tuesday morning, the United States Attorney's office released many of the exhibits used in the successful corruption conviction of former Cuyahoga County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora.

Two surveillance videos released offer an inside look at the famed Las Vegas visit of Dimora and businessmen trying to buy his influence.

Surveillance from the Mirage Hotel in Vegas shows Dimora and others taking a limo ride to the plush Bellagio Hotel. That is where they spent a bundle at Prime Steakhouse with Dimora feasting on food all paid for by Ferris Kleem. Kleem bankrolled much of the Vegas junket.

There are also pictures of them eating there, lounging by the Bare Pool at the Mirage. As the name implies, women at the pool are topless.

As the vacation wound down, a second video shows Dimora and his rat pack heading back to the airport, again in a limo.

Back in Ohio, the evidence features all kinds of expensive improvements made to Dimora's home by many of the same contractors who tried to curry his favor.

There were wiretapped conversations played at trial and widely quoted on the news that were not handed over on Tuesday. The rationale is that they could be used at future trials, but since they've already been played and quoted, 19 Action News is asking why.
