SHAKER HEIGHTS, OH (WOIO) -

A 20-year-old man has been charged with murdering a woman inside her Shaker Heights apartment.

William D. Hammons has been charged with aggravated murder in connection with the homicide of Sharon Anderson-Norfus on or about May 4.

Co-workers went to Anderson-Norfus' apartment after the 60-year-old failed to show up for work at Saks at Beachwood Mall. Management let the co-workers inside the apartment, and they found her body.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner says she was strangled.

Hammons is due in court next week.
