My guests and I talked about children with disabilities and how the Achievement Centers for Children helps them.
We also discussed how the organization
also helps their parents cope with what are often challenging situations
throughout the life of a child with disabilities.
We talked about
societal attitudes regarding children with disabilities and how the
impact on that population, the difference of thinking about them as handicapped
or handi-capable.
We also talked about two of the organization's
annual fundraisers, the most excellent race, coming up on June 24th, 2012 and
their November dinner.
Each of the events helps to fund Camp Cheerful, a
place where children with disabilities can play and learn and grow.
