Chardon Shootings: Victims ID'd in murder-suicide

CHARDON, OH (WOIO) -

Two people were killed in an apparent murder-suicide in Chardon Tuesday morning.

It happened at Cooke's Service on Center Street shortly after 9:30 a.m.

When officers arrived, they discovered a man and woman with gunshot wounds lying outside of the building. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

The victims have been identified as Frank Dobos, 44, and Monika Dobos, 40, both of Middlefield. Officers tell 19 Action News they are husband and wife who were going through a divorce. One of the victims worked at the auto body center.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Mr. Dobos shot Mrs. Dobos. The case is still under  investigation.
