CUYAHOGA COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -
In order to provide the parties adequate time to properly address sentencing issues, Jimmy Dimora's sentencing has been pushed back until July 30.
Earlier today, Judge Sarah Lioi has denied Jimmy Dimora's request for a new trial.
In a 46 page opinion, she spelled out her reasons. However, she did dismiss one count. Count 10 of the indictment. This involved John Valentin doing free stone work at Dimora's home with the hope that he could help in getting a visa for a foreign relative.
A portion of Judge Lioi' decision:
"With respect to the remaining counts of conviction, the Court concludes that the evidence, when viewed in a light most favorable to the government, was sufficient for a rational juror to have found the essential elements of the charged crimes beyond a reasonable doubt."
