Murdered Ashland mother laid to rest

Posted: Updated:
ASHLAND, OH (WOIO) -

Funeral services were held late Monday morning for an Ashland mother killed while on vacation in North Carolina.

Friends and family gathered to remember Lynn Jackenheimer at the Grace Bethren Church in Ashland.

Jackenheimer was vacationing with her boyfriend, 27-year-old Nathan Summerfield and her two children, ages 3 and 13, earlier this month in Nags Head, North Carolina.

Her body was located in a wooded area just 25 miles south of there on Sunday, July 15.

Police say Jackenheimer went to Nags Head, North Carolina July 3 with Summerfield and her children. Summerfield returned on Sunday, July 9 with the children. He dropped the kids off at their grandparents and hasn't been seen since.

Summerfield was last seen driving his gray in color 2009 Honda Civic 4 door with Ohio registration FMV-7540.  It is believed that he is still driving that vehicle, but it is possible that he may have removed his license plates and attached stolen plates from another vehicle.
