Government wants to send Jimmy Dimora away for 22 years

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

The government wants Jimmy Dimora to go away for a long time. Prosecutors filed paperwork with the court asking for Dimora to be sentenced to more than 22 years in prison for his crimes.

Dimora was found guilty on more than 30 charges in a bribes for county contracts scheme that went on for years. Monday's filing just the government's recommendation.

The judge will have the final say. Dimora will be sentenced on July 30.
