AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Three men accused of trying to blow up a Cleveland-area bridge will go before a judge Wednesday afternoon, where it's expected they'll change their pleas.

Douglas L. Wright, Brandon L. Baxter, and Connor C. Stevens pled not guilty back in May.

26-year-old Wright, 20-year-old Baxter, 20-year-old Stevens, 35-year-old Anthony Hayne, and Joshua S. Stafford face federal charges for plotting to blow up the Brecksville bridge.

Anthony Hayne pleaded guilty to three counts during a hearing in July.

According to the indictment, the five men conspired between February 20 and April 30, 2012 to use two improvised explosive devices containing C-4 plastic explosives on the Brecksville-Northfield High Level Bridge.

The FBI says the public was never in danger because the explosives were inoperable.

The bridge crosses from Brecksville to Sagamore Hills over the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Shaquille Azir has been identified as the informant who worked with the FBI to bust the suspects. Azir has been threatened, and is now in witness protection.
