Hearing Tuesday for Mason teen suspected in drug ring

Posted: Updated:

LEBANON, Ohio (AP) - A 17-year-old Mason High School student accused of being a "drug czar" with six lieutenants is set to appear in juvenile court on Tuesday.

The teenager has a choice of admitting to or denying the drug trafficking charges against him in Warren County Juvenile Court in Lebanon.

Those options are the juvenile court's version of pleading guilty or not guilty.

The Warren County Drug Task Force says the teen was part of a high-grade homegrown marijuana operation that sold as much as $20,000 worth of the drug monthly to high school students in two Cincinnati-area schools.

Adults in the area are accused of leading the drug ring, while the teen is accused of operating as a lower-ranking accomplice with six teens near his age reporting to him.
