Lifebanc Gift of Life Walk & Run held Saturday

CUYAHOGA FALLS, OH (WOIO) -

Thousands headed to Blossom Music Center on Saturday morning, not for a concert, but to make strides to save lives at Lifebanc's Gift of Life Walk & Run.

Lifebanc celebrated the Gift of Life by honoring the lives of organ, eye and tissue donors, commemorating the lives of recipients and recognizing the lives of those waiting for a transplant.

"We decided a long time ago we needed to celebrate his life. One of the ways we can do that is raise money for Lifebanc," said one participant.

Family members of Kevin Fox participated in Saturday's event.  They raised $800 for Lifebanc.  Fox was one of 4 teens from Brunswick High School killed in a tragic accident back in June.  His organs were donated to save lives.

"I was shot and they took off my whole face," said Connie Culp.  "I feel 100 percent better and I feel like I got my life back."

Giving back was important to Linda Corea and her family.  Her son Michael Allen Corea died in a motorcycle crash, but before that he received a second chance.

"Mike was a recipient in 1997 and a donor in 2006," said Linda Corea.
