Season Opener Season Opener
CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

They were in it to the end, but the Cleveland Browns fell to the Philadelphia Eagles in the season opener 17-16.

Despite struggling on offense all day, the Browns grabbed a lead early in the fourth quarter when the defense put points on the board. D'Qwell Jackson intercepted Mike Vick and ran it back 27 yards for a touchdown to give them a 16-10 lead.

Later in the quarter Philly went on a 16 play, 91 yard drive that resulted in a Clay Harbor four yard touchdown reception to put the Eagles up 17-16. Cleveland got the ball back with about a minute left, but on the first play Brandon Weeden threw an interception.

Weeden struggled in his NFL debut. The rookie passer finished 12 of 35 for 118 yards, no touchdowns and four interceptions. He had a passer rating of 5.1. Trent Richardson carried it 19 times for 39 yards.

So we have to ask, should the Browns stick with Weeden or should the team call in Colt?

Cleveland mustered only three field goals on offense despite getting several chances thanks to their defense. The defense picked off Vick four times.

The Browns have only won one season opener since the team came back in 1999. They defeated Baltimore 20-3.
