ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

Fire crews were called to the scene of a 2-alarm fire at Ridgepoint condominiums early Tuesday morning.

Residents were evacuated around 4 a.m. when Anderson Township Battalion Chief Fred Buop says he believes the fire started on a second floor deck and spread to the third floor apartment.

All residents were evacuated safely and no injuries were reported.

A handful of residents have been displaced. The Red Cross has been called in for assistance.

Chief Buop says discarded smoking materials could be what sparked the fire but the investigation is still in the preliminary stages. A second alarm was called because of the amount of people who lived in the building.
