CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -

A 34-year-old Cleveland man was shot and robbed on West 44th Place.

The incident occurred at about 1 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 16 on West 44th Place, an alley near Hodgson Avenue. A witness told police that he heard the gunshot, stepped outside and saw a young, dark-skinned black male wearing a bucket-style hat and gray hoodie run from the alley. The suspect met up with another male and they fled on BMX-style bicycles.

The victim was shot in the stomach and underwent surgery at MetroHealth Medical Center. The injury is not considered serious. He told police that a young black man, about 23 years old, approached him in the alley, pointed a gun at him and yelled, "Gimme all your money."
