Cleveland's Lake Erie Monsters have continued to show their commitment to their hometown by adding the city's name into their logo.  The team unveiled their new 2012-13 jerseys – featuring the updated "Cleveland" logo - at an event at the City of Cleveland's Halloran Park on the city's west side on Tuesday afternoon.  Also during the festivities, the Monsters and the City of Cleveland announced a new, unique partnership centered on Halloran Park's youth hockey program.

The Monsters logo, which has been with the team since the original launch in 2007, will now include "Cleveland" written into it below the "Monsters" wordmark. Moving forward, this logo will be seen on all uniforms, including home, road and alternate.  The home white jerseys have also been revised for the 2012-13 season, which begins Friday, October 12th at Quicken Loans Arena.  The new jersey was on display at Tuesday's event, and aside from the new logo, also now features white shoulders and sleeves, in the more traditional home uniform look.

"The City of Cleveland and our community of fans and supporters here have given so much to the Lake Erie Monsters and are such a part of who we are as an organization, that we thought it made perfect sense to reflect that more in our identity," said Mike Ostrowski, Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer of the Monsters.  "While we of course represent and appreciate all of Northeast Ohio and the Lake Erie region, we are proud to be in the heart of downtown Cleveland and strive to work and play with the same passion and grit that Clevelanders have come to be known for."
