Couple accused of locking child in basement pleads not guilty

MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) -

The Middletown couple charged with child endangering after allegedly locking their daughter in a basement was in court on Tuesday.

Joanna and Shawn Blackston both pleaded not guilty to charges of child endangering. They were arrested in July after police say they locked their 12-year-old daughter in their unfinished basement.

The Blackstons are due back in court on Nov. 8 for a pre-trial hearing and the trial will begin Nov. 12.
