HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) -

Five young men were taken to the hospital Thursday morning after a crash in Hamilton.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. at Gilmore Road and Hamilton Mason Road.

Police say a Chevy Cobalt with five male occupants, ages 18 to 20, was traveling southbound on Gilmore when the driver was  unable to stop for a posted stop sign. The vehicle crossed over Hamilton Mason Road, leaving over 200' of skid marks.  The vehicle then vaulted off the top of an embankment and landed in a parking lot at the bottom of the embankment, striking a construction trailer parked in the lot.

All occupants were transported to medical facilities for multiple injuries. Some injuries were serious, but none are deemed life threatening. One occupant was air cared to University Hospital while others were taken to various medical facilities in the area.  Most occupants were not wearing seatbelts.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident. Excessive speed does appear to be a factor.

Police have not released the names of anyone involved. The accident remains under investigation.
