Fatal crash in Seneca County

SENECA COUNTY, OH (WOIO) -

The Highway Patrol is currently investigating a two-car fatal crash that happened on US 224 at the intersection of CR 23 in Seneca County. 

A truck driven by 19-year-old Joshua Collins of Willard was at the stop sign at the intersection.  As he started through the intersection, he was struck on the driver's side by a truck driven by 24-year-old Bryan Waldock of Tiffin.

Collins was life-flighted to St. Vincent's Hospital in Toledo where he later died.

Two passengers in Collins' truck, 11-year-old David Tripp of Republic and 15-year-old Johni Hamons also of Republic, were injured.  Tripp was life-flighted to St. Vincent's Hospital.  Hamons was taken to Willard Hospital.

Waldock was taken to Tiffin Mercy Hospital by Attica EMS with non-life threatening injuries.  He was subsequently arrested for OVI.  Blood results are pending.
