EAST WALNUT HILLS, OH (FOX19) -

A teen was taken into custody Sunday evening after allegedly trying to run over two police officers.

Cincinnati police say Antonio Spurling, 19, tried to reverse into officers to escape arrest on Ashland Avenue in East Walnut Hills.

The officers were on bicycles and were able to dive out of the way of the reversing car. The teen missed the officers but hit a utility pole, knocking out power for about an hour for many East Walnut Hills residents.

According to court documents, Spurling had asked to borrow the car for a few hours, and never returned it.

Spurling is charged with assault, unauthorized use of a vehicle and several traffic violations. His bond was set at $21,000.
