Man shot in north Toledo

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - A man was shot around 1 a.m. Tuesday morning in the 3300 block of Wilson Place.

Toledo police arrived at the house to find a victim lying on the ground after being shot once in his chest.

The victim was rushed to the hospital by life squad with serious injuries.

Police say the victim was hanging out with two friends on a front porch when an unknown suspect approached them and fired one shot, hitting the victim.

The suspect then got into a struggle with one of the friends out in the front yard before getting away, and is still at large.

Police confirm that the victim went straight into surgery at the hospital, and that he is expected to survive.
