CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) -
An off-duty Cleveland Police officer was robbed at gunpoint while getting his mail.
The incident took place late at night earlier this week on East 122nd Street off of Buckeye Road. Officer Lenard Butler said the robber put a gun to his back, cocked the gun and said, "You know what time it is."
The suspect said he wasn't going to shoot him, but was going to take his stuff - including his Glock 9mm service weapon and 16 rounds. He made the officer walk to the back yard and lay down. The officer told investigators he thought the suspect was going to kill him, but thought twice when he realized he was a police officer.
