(WOIO) -

As a resident of the great state of Ohio, it is nice to be appreciated for our unique status in these United States of America.  And like many of you, I can't wait for that "appreciation" to stop.

I'm referring, of course, to this year's presidential election and the almost-smothering attention we are getting from both the Obama and the Romney campaigns.  We have been a battleground state for many past elections but old hands will tell you they've  never seen anything like this.

An unprecedented amount of money is being spent here this year, mostly on television, so much so that if you haven't gone numb yet and you watch closely, you will see Obama and Romney ads running literally back to back.  And with a little less than a month till election day, both candidates are now barnstorming the state almost every week---nearly bumping into each other in a mad dash to capture Ohio's precious electoral votes.  Well any day now... We may be "appreciated" to death.

Write and let me know what you think.  I'm Bill Applegate.
