A prayer vigil was held Tuesday night for the family of Erica Collins, the woman who was shot and killed by a Cincinnati Police Officer over the weekend.
Project Nehemiah Ceasefire, local Religious and Community leaders and Collins' family came together for the vigil on Tuesday near the shooting site, 2948 High Forest Lane at Colerain.
"This was a very unfortunate accident, however, we must not cease to unite and pray to God, the only one who can heal these communities and put an end to the violence," said Pastor Ennis F. Tait, community organizer for Project Nehemiah Ceasefire. "We, as people of faith, must believe that no matter what it looks like, no matter how bad things appear, our God is able to do the impossible."
Collins was shot and killed by Officer Matt Latzy while he was responding to a domestic dispute. Collins was armed with a butcher knife.
Cincinnati Police Chief James Craig has said that the shooting was justified.
