The Browns placed offensive lineman Jason Pinkston on injured reserve on Monday. Taking his spot on the active roster is offensive lineman Jarrod Shaw.
The team also signed former Glenville Tarblooder and Ohio State offensive lineman Bryant Browning to the practice squad.
Pinkston started the first six games of this season at left guard before being inactive for Sunday's game against the Colts because of a blood clot. Pinkston remains hospitalized but is expected to be released on Tuesday.
Jarrod Shaw spent the first seven weeks of the 2012 season on the team's practice squad.
Browning was originally signed by St. Louis as an undrafted free agent in July, 2011 but was released the next month. The Carolina Panthers signed him to their practice squad on September 6, 2011 where he spent the first 11 weeks of the season before being signed to the active roster.
He saw action in one contest and was inactive for another before being placed on injured reserve with a wrist injury on December 17. He spent the first six weeks of the 2012 season on the Panthers' practice squad before having his contract terminated on October 16.
