Defense rests in Craigslist murder trial of Brogan Rafferty

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

The defense has rested in the Craigslist murder trial of Brogan Rafferty.

Wednesday morning, a psychologist testified about the mental state of the teenage suspect.  Defense attorneys wanted him to be allowed to testify that Rafferty was an abused child, but Judge Lynne Callahan would not allow that line of questioning.

Closing arguments will happen on Thursday, and then jury deliberations will begin.

Rafferty faces multiple charges, including four counts of murder.

Rafferty and 52-year-old Richard Beasley are accused of luring men to a remote farm in Noble County through a Craigslist ad that promised work.

Three men were killed, a fourth man was shot, but survived.
