CLEVELAND, OH -
On Sunday, November 11, 2012, the Coast Guard Sector Detroit rescued two boaters in distress after their boat capsized in the body of Lake Erie.
At around 12:30 p.m. the 911 call for help was cut short and immediately the Lucas County dispatcher informed the Coast Guard of the emergency.
The Coast Guard then obtained a partial position of the watercraft, leading to a search of the area near Ward's Canal in Jerusalem Township.
The boat crew first discovered debris and soon after the rescue helicopter located and air-lifted the men to the Toledo Airport for medical attention.
At around 1:40 p.m., the men were found to be responsive and were treated for hypothermia.
The rescue aircrew spotted the men wearing life jackets and clinging to the stern of their boat. @
